Things to Ponder

1. If a log truck has no logs on it, is it still a log truck?
2. If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it still make a sound?
3. Why does the sun lighten our hair, but darken our skin?
4. Why do they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?
5. Why do we buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in packages of eight?
6. How come we choose from just two people for president and fifty for Miss America?
7. If the professor on Gilligan's island can make a radio out of a coconut, why cant he fix a hole in a boat?
8. If you were to choke a smurf, what color would it turn?
9. Is it right for vegetarians to eat animal crackers?
10. Why do they put Braille dots on the keypad of the drive-up ATM?
11. If corn oil comes from corn, where does baby oil come from?
12. Do the Alphabet song (A,b,c,d...) and Twinkle Twinkle little star have the same tune? and ....Lastly, Why did you just try singing the two songs above?

911?!

Last night, my mom called 911 because there was suspicious activity next door and there was a motorcycle rider without a helmet. When the cops come, they try to arrest HER! They said it was misuse of 911, and that they were going to make an example of her. How would they be making an example of her when the only witnesses were our other neighbors that she was sitting with? They were really rough with her as well, hurting her bad knee and her shoulder. They wouldn't even let her go lock the house, or get shoes, or her ID, or anything. They wouldn't even let the good neighbor go and get my mom's phone to call my dad. My mom has panic attacks, anxiety problems, and a severe mistrust of cops. By the time everything is sorted out and they let her go, she is sobbing and shaking. On of the cops even kicked my cat as he walked by!

What's mine is hers and what's hers is hers

Remember that old saying "Whats mine is her and what's hers is her" in relation to marriage? It also applies to mother-child relationships. I had this really cool floor lamp in my room that someone gave me, with five flexible head and multicolored shades. I was using it as a reading light. All of a sudden, my mom decides that it would work really great in her sewing room to light up her sewing machine. Since I'm still under her roof, I have no choice but to give it to her. Now I will probably never get to use it again, as she will forget it's really mine. I then ask if I can replace said lamp with another floor lamp in the house that is sitting in the corner of the dining room unused. And what does she say? "No, we're moving in 6 weeks and we should be putting things away."

Lethal Weapons

In the right hands, anything can be used as a weapon. Even that sticky note or pencil on your desk could be used as a murder weapon. One of the more surprising dangerous items however, is the hula hoop. It's just a ring of plastic, used as a childrens' toy, right? Wrong. Go to any Hoopnautica or Hoopgirl class. Yeah, its good exercise for all ages (burning as many calories as running but lower impact), but the hoops sometimes have minds of their own. I have knocked my glasses of many times, and everyone in the class ends up with bruises at some point, whether from their own hoop or another student's. I could see some ancient or future society using these as weapons, easily. They require very little training to do damage.
*NOTE: This is not meant to discourage anyone from trying hooping. It's still a fun, calorie burning workout.*

TV remote on the loose

Well, today my mom lost the tv remote. I looked in the living room, bathroom, the kitchen, my mom's bedroom, and the office searching for this thing. We just about tore the house apart trying to find it, only to finally spot it on the table next to her chair, behind a box after lifting the chair up to check underneath for the third time. Go figure.

What strange places have you found the remote in?

Welcome

Welcome everyone and thank you for coming here today. This is my first blog, so bare with me please. Let me know if you have any suggestions for anything, as I like to keep the people happy.
Thanks,
